Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Raised by her mother throughout the USA she was subject to a lot of racial taunts and made her feel being unwelcome. In the 9th grade, she began to feel more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. This not only increased her confidence but her dreams transformed. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from Julliard School in New York. She began her career when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot, she played The Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. In the following year, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. As a well-known singer, she released her own single and an extended version of her play. She's also an activist who works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
